AW25 COLOUR GUIDE

As we are about to embark on an exciting AW25 season, Oldstrom has curated our very own colour guide inspired by WGSN x Coloro trend report for the season. 

The report highlights themes of wellness, sustainability, creativity and technology as consumer drivers of these colours. Our AW25 collections seamlessly incorporate the key colour themes identified by WGSN, reflecting the latest trends in a vibrant and cohesive palette. FUTURE DUSK

Individuality protrudes as a key theme for 2025. Creative and innovative, Future Dusk brings a dynamic newness to the plate for this season. This colour “aligns with themes of moving from darkness to light, dusk to dawn, preparing us for new horizons”. This dreamscape palette adds a elegant and rich touch to our collections this season.

CELESTIAL YELLOW

With a new year presenting itself as a year full of optimism, it makes sense that our next key colour is celestial yellow. Proposing a glow of positive harmony, “it is reminiscent of the moon, the stars and the sun, and connects with the search for reassurance and guidance as people look to spirituality, astrology and astronomy in times of uncertainty”. Celestial yellow is most striking in our crystal accents from Caroline Svedbom’s Dreamscape collection, bringing bright hopeful energy to the new season.

CHEERY LACQUER

A maturing of the cherry red trend sees cherry lacquer manifesting in AW25. This powerful pantone has a more luxurious appeal with “a seductive quality that taps into our deepest desires, taboos and pleasures as a form of radical escapism and self-empowerment”. We’re irresistibly drawn to the rich allure of cherry lacquer, an undeniably captivating shade that adds depth and vibrancy to every piece in our collections.

TRANSFORMATIVE TEAL

Ending off with a colour that taps into the comfort of nostalgia. This teal blue evokes feelings of warmth and sentimentality, “it has an undercurrent of soft joy and innocence brought on by memories, aligning with the rise of kindults and nostalgic sentiments reimagined among Gen Z”. It is clear that this retro blue is emerging as a captivating standout in our AW25 collections, commanding attention with its bold and timeless allure.

As the curtain closes on SS25 fashion weeks from Copenhagen to London and Paris, we’re buzzing with fresh inspiration for next season. With so many standout moments on the runways, we’ve curated our top trend picks that are set to define the fashion landscape. 

Romantic reverie

The boho-chic movement, catapulted back into the spotlight by Chloé’s AW24 show, continues its reign in SS25—and we're loving it! Think romantic ruffles, dreamy silhouettes, and light fabrics that exude effortless femininity. Simone Rocha, Loewe, and of course, Chloé embraced this free-spirited aesthetic in their collections.

Structured shoulders and exquisite suiting dominated this season. This trend took form through both oversized cuts and form-fitting styles alike. We saw that The Row, Saint Lauren and Nina Ricci embraced the versatility of power dressing on their catwalks.

Butter yellow

The undisputed colour of SS25? Butter yellow.

This creamy, sun-soaked hue dominated collections from Loewe, Jacquemus, Gucci, and Paloma Wool, emerging as the new neutral for Spring. It’s a shade that exudes optimism, perfect for a season where authenticity and joy are at the forefront of fashion.

Scandinavian brand Bitte Kai Rand embraces this uplifting palette in their High Summer 2025 collection. Their design DNA is epitomised by relaxed fits, colour and soft, textured fabrics. Butter yellow never looked so effortless.

Vintage-inspired slingbacks and pumps strutted down the catwalks, adding a touch of timeless elegance to SS25. Pointed toes and rich red hues were key accents in shows such as Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent, perfectly complementing the season's power dressing looks.

WHAT TO WEAR TO CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW

The Summer social calendar will soon be kicking off with the iconic RHS Chelsea Flower Show- an annual event held at the historic Royal Hospital Chelsea, running from the 21st to the 25th of May.

If you managed to grab some tickets this year, then you might be in need of a little outfit inspiration. Here are a few of our recommendations for event-appropriate looks.

We know, as Miranda would say “Florals for Chelsea Flower Show… groundbreaking” but in this case it really is a perfect match!

A summery, day dress is a great, easy option to nail the smart/casual dress code. Pair with a comfy trainer to get you through the day and some statement jewellery, like these Caroline Svedbom Petite Rope and Anemone styles, to add an extra touch of glamour to the look.

Chelsea Flower Show is the perfect excuse to pull out the linen pieces from summer wardrobe storage.

This set from Sand Copenhagen would be light and comfortable for a day in the sun, but still gives a crisp and sophisticated look, especially when layered with an Italian-tailored, double-breasted cream blazer.

On a really hot day, a straw fedora and a pair of sunglasses would be the perfect accessories to help protect your face from the sun. THE AW24 SEASON WRAPPED

Here are our key takeaways after completing another busy selling season. This is Autumn/ Winter 2024 wrapped!

THE KEY COLOURS:

Across all of our brands’ collections, we noticed a repeating theme of rich tones of chocolate brown- an easy colour to style and a bit more interesting and elegant than navy or black, we are happy to see that brown is back.

After rising in popularity at the end of 2023, it also seems that the pop of red is here to stay! This season the tone of red is more rusty and very Autumn / Fall appropriate.

Finally, we started to see some playful pops of pastel within all the dark wintery tones. Mint being a big player, as well as cool tones of blue, yellow and pink. We believe this will help the collections to seamlessly transition into the SS25 season.

THE DESIGN FEATURES:

In the Autumn/ Winter collections the bow continues to reign supreme and if you ask Mei MeiJ then they would say the bigger the better! We love this super cute trend and we are glad to see it featured in new and interesting ways.

But if bows aren’t your thing then maybe corsages and big, fabric flowers are. You can find variations of this design feature in the AW24 collections from Dea Kudibal, Mei MeiJ and Bitte Kai Rand.

These little design accessories are a great add-on to all the skirts and tailoring that seem to be the most popular styles of clothing across the collections.

THE BESTSELLERS:

Accessories in general were a strong category for us this season. This is an area that we have focussed in on recently- finding new, premium brands that we know our customers will love. In AW24 we added GLAS Eyewear and Edblad Jewellery to our Oldstrom portfolio and due to great margins and unique, reactive product offerings, these new brands seem to have been a big hit!

In the world of footwear, the ballet pump continues to be a winning style. We loved how Kennel & Schmenger took this trend and continued to play with it in interesting ways: from animal print and tweed variations, to stud embellishments and pointed toes.

Finally, we couldn’t round up an Autumn/ Winter season without speaking about the outerwear. Due to warmer climates and rainy forecasts becoming the norm, customers are opting for lighter jackets rather than heavy, padded winter coats. The Monsun from BRGN continues to be our most popular shape- a stylish, flattering option that will also keep you happy and dry no matter the weather.

Summer may not be what we all expected, with the weather changing as many times as a girl deciding what to wear to a dinner party. The rain, accompanied by colder temperatures, may leave us wishing we’d be more prepared for these particular situations.

However, fear no more, as we are one step ahead, bringing you the Autumn / Winter 21 essentials for every occasion.

One thing I hate for sure, is having cold feet during the winter months or alternatively having to layer up on socks something which is not always ideal. The inner lining on these shoes will come to you as a godsend, as they will ensure that your feet remain warm and cosy with no extra effort involved.

Our next favourite shoe of the season, is these knee high boots, which are ideal for the days were the rain makes an appearance. The material is made from Soft Nubuk, and is bound to keep you warm and protected.

Some days we may feel lazy and may choose to stay indoors. The Verso shoe, is a shoe which is easy to wear, as its structure allows for the foot to slip on and off with ease. It is also super stylish and is very popular amongst our customers. The fact that they are sandals, also means you are able to wear them throughout different seasons, not just Autumn and Winter. There is very low stock so make sure to get your hands on a pair of these!!

SS20 Previews - Kennel & Schmenger

Kennel & Schmenger was founded in 1918 and has a long and proud tradition that combines handcraft and zeitgeist in their manufacture. Kennel & Schmenger’s distinctive handwriting has elevated it to become one of the key brands in the premium segment. With the collections’ variety within all product groups their styles convey both aesthetics and casualness. Over the years Kennel & Schmenger gained essential experience. This comprehensive know-how is used throughout all groups of products like pumps, sneakers, sandals, boots and booties.

We had the pleasure to visit Kennel & Schmenger’s factory in Pirmasens which is one of the last remaining factories in Germany that still produces locally. It was incredible to see how the shoes are created from sketch to finished product with the greatest detail and care.
